Skin cancer medicine
Skin cancer is common in Queensland. Early treatment can drastically improve your chance of recovery, making regular skin checks so important

Understanding skin cancer medicine
Our doctors offer full skin checks, biopsies, and excisions. We take the time to look carefully, explain what we find, and discuss options for further management.
If treatment is needed, it’s done here at the clinic in a short, straightforward procedure. When something requires specialist input, we’ll arrange a referral and help coordinate your care so you don’t have to manage it alone.
We also provide guidance on sun protection, early detection, and practical ways to reduce your skin cancer risk over time.

What we do
We’ll ask about your medical history and any spots you’re worried about.
Your doctor will check your skin from head to toe using a dermatoscope.
You’ll have time to point out any changes or new marks you’ve noticed.
If something looks unusual, a small biopsy may be taken under local anaesthetic.
You’ll get practical advice on prevention and when to book your next check.

When to book a skin check
Most people should have their skin checked once a year, but you might need to come in sooner if you notice:
- A new spot or mole that looks different from the rest
- A change in size, colour, or shape
- A mole or lesion that bleeds, crusts, doesn’t heal, itches, or is sore
- A history of sunburn, fair skin, or lots of time outdoors
If you’re unsure, book a quick check. Early care is simple, quick, and gives peace of mind.
